Welcome!

Hello world, and welcome to my blog! I’m a violinist and violin teacher living and working in Westchester County, just north of New York City. With the launch of my website, I’m excited to tell you about how I intend to use this platform.

I’m writing for fellow musicians, particularly violin students and professionals who feel that they are lifelong students at heart, and for parents of violin students, for fellow teachers, and for those who are just curious about the process of learning, practicing and performing.

I plan to share resources such as a list of favorite repertoire (with links to free sheet music, including my own arrangements) for violin ensembles of various sizes.

I’ll probably get into some nerdy pedagogy stuff, for fellow teachers. I’ll probably also want to explore the purely human/interpersonal side of teaching, which might be interesting to all of you fellow humans!

For concert-goers and listeners, I will share my thoughts about the repertoire I’m playing on up-coming performances and any recordings that I release.

I have some strong feelings about many aspects of teaching and playing and the kinds of environments and communities we build around music making, and I want to hear what you have to say about these topics too. Therefore, my hope is that you will make good use of the comments section! I want to be able to dig into subjects that might make us feel vulnerable (hello, performance anxiety!) knowing that together we have created a supportive and sincerely interested online community. I can’t do that alone, so please join me in this adventure into the blogosphere!
